I began my aviation career back in 1974 as an airport lineman at Islip, NY. Licensed as a Private pilot in 1975 and enlisted in US Navy from 1975 to 1982.aircraft weapons and safety background, assigned to USS Nimitz, CVN 68, for multiple deployments worldwide. In 1982 transferred to US Army, completing US Army flight school, 1983, designated US Army Warrant Officer Aviator flying UH1H Huey helicopters. Progressed through the ranks, with positions to include US Army fixed wing Aviator, aeromedical qualification, rotary wing flight instructor, flight examiner and safety officer. Completed several tours worldwide including multiple combat tours. Retired after 24 years at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3. Transitioning in 2001 to NASA, served as Gulfstream 2 and 3SP, SIC / PIC, UH1H1, and UH1H2 rotary wing Instructor Pilot, and NASA Safety Officer at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, supporting the Space Shuttle program until its completion. Additional background positions in corporate aviation, aircraft accident investigator, and various contract pilot positions accumulating over 7000 flight hours worldwide. Currently residing in Cocoa Beach, Florida; hobbies include flying, boating, and traveling in my off time.
