Captain Gray brings to FlyAlliance decades of experience in both military and commercial air operations. Michael most recently was the Senior Vice President of Operations for a startup Part 121 airline overseeing all requirements for certification.

Mike’s previous airline management experience includes positions of leadership as Senior Vice President, Director of Operations, Director of Safety, Chief Pilot, Director of Standards and Director of Training for Part 121 and 135 airlines. He provided multi-site management, operational leadership and worldwide pilot services for domestic and international scheduled service and charter operations, corporate professionals and business leaders including multiple government clients of the Department of State, Department of Defense, and other government agencies.

Previously Qualified as a Captain, FAA Aircrew Program Designee, Line and Simulator Check Airman, Mike commanded B737, B757, Global Express, Gulfstream, Hawker, and numerous other aircraft worldwide. Mike has over 12,000 accident-free hours and is type rated on 12 different aircraft.

Commander Gray retired from the U.S. Navy after 25 years of dedicated and honorable service. As a Naval Aviator, he was an Aircraft Commander, Check and Instructor Pilot and Maintenance Check Pilot. Mike spent 15 years as an Aviation Maintenance Manager in addition to his flying duties and was qualified as a Landing Signals Officer (LSO). He received numerous personal awards during his distinguished Naval career including a citation from the President of the United States for outstanding meritorious service.
